Inside that house, there was four people. One of them, is believed as Noordin Mohd. Top. The most wanted terrorist and the prime suspect of the mastermind behind the JW. Marriott and Ritz Carlton bomb attack in Jakarta, three weeks ago. This attack killed nine people, including three Australians. He is also the mastermind behind the bomb attacks on the JW. Police officers exchanged fire with terror suspects at a house in Beji village, Temanggung, in Central Java on Friday, but could not verify whether most-wanted terror suspect Noordin M. Top was involved.
Police surrounded the building from around 5 p.m. and the shoot-out began as suspects refused to turn themselves in.
“Hopefully it’s Noordin’s group because they are our main target. There are three or four people in the house,” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Nanan Soekarna said.
“We are still in contact with Detachment 88 *Indonesia’s special counterterrorism squad* but haven’t received any confirmed information from them,” National Police deputy spokesman Brig. Gen. Sulistyo Ishak said, as quoted by Antara.
Earlier, the police arrested two men identified as Aris and Hendra, at their bicycle workshop in Parakan market, Temanggung.
The two are cousins of Tatag, who was arrested by Detachment 88 three years ago. Tatag is the son of Mohzahri, the owner of the house currently surrounded.
However, there was no official statement from police regarding the arrest of Aris and Hendra.
Until late Friday, police were busily working to keep curious villagers at a safe distance of around 500 meters from the house.
Detachment 88 has been standing by, while also preparing a bomb disposal vehicle.
Quotes from Reuters :
“Indonesian police have shot dead a man suspected to be fugitive Islamic militant Noordin Mohammad Top during raids in Central Java and were trying to identify his body, a police source said on Saturday.
Separately, police found five bombs during another raid on a house in Bekasi near the capital Jakarta, the source who is close to the investigation told Reuters.”
These successful operations is a great news to us Indonesian people, and I believe also to people around the globe. Terrorism is never welcomed anywhere in this planet. And I believe it’s not a matter of religion that drives this terrorism acts. It’s the poor brainwashed people who do not know what they do. All they think about is destructions and killing innocent people. I hope there will be no more this kind of people in the future. One terrorist in this world is too much. May peace will be with Indonesia and all of us…
update: The person killed in the raid is NOT Noordin Mohd. Top!

At a press conference on Wednesday morning, the head of the National Police center for medical and health, Brig. Gen. Eddy Saparwoko, confirmed that the body was that of Ibrahim, a florist who went missing from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel following the July 17 blast.
Police used DNA testing to identify the body, after taking samples from Noordin M Top’s family in Malaysia and Ibrahim’s relatives in West Java.
